QS Ranking seminar is an annual event organised by the QS Intelligent Unit in a number of selected countries to meet various objectives.

One of the seminar’s objectives is for it to be a medium for the sharing of information to all higher education stakeholders on the methods adopted by the QS Intelligence Unit in making evaluation to generate the lists for “QS Rankings – QS World University Rankings”, “QS Asia Rankings” and “QS World Rankings by Subject”.

It is also a forum involving the participation of experts in the higher education sector to analyse the impact of QS Ranking on the reputation of an institution and the rate of international student intake.

Furthermore, it is a platform for the sharing of information and discussions on the current achievements of the country’s higher education institutions in the QS Ranking and the opportunities for improvement.

The seminar also aims to share information about the aspect of “Academic and Employer Reputation Metrics” in the QS Ranking rating process and the effect of that aspect in improving the standing of institutions in the QS Ranking.

As an extension of organising the seminar, UPM was also offered a “private discussion” session with the Rankings Manager (Data Acquisition Team) Selina Griffin; Commercial Director for the QS Intelligence Unit, Jason Newman; and the Global Head Consultant of the QS Intelligence Unit, David Reggio.
